One of the many ways we support our youngest children in the school is our wonderful Buddy Scheme.

In the first few weeks of starting school, Reception children are given a Year 6 ‘Buddy’. A supportive friend to help them navigate things like lunchtimes and playtimes.

We know that this role is hugely anticipated by our older children, who genuinely live up to all expectations.  They take the lead in developing games with the children, help them with coats and build strong, positive friendships with their younger peers.

Throughout the year, we have special ‘get-togethers’ – book sharing sessions, Christmas games and end of term playtimes on the field.

The Buddies are an amazing asset and play a huge role in helping our Reception children feel happy and supported at school.
