Learning Today for the World of Tomorrow

Welcome

At West Hill Primary School, we believe that the journey of learning begins in Reception! Here, we create a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover and grow. Our philosophy centres around ‘Learning through Play’; allowing young minds to thrive through imaginative and engaging activities.

In our Reception class, every day is an adventure, whether indoors or out in the fresh air. The classroom is a fantastic space filled with resources that spark curiosity, while our outdoor area encourages our children to experiment, explore and discover.

At the heart of each day, is time to build strong and positive relationships with each other; learning to respect and trust everyone equally.

Join us on this exciting journey as we lay the foundations for a lifelong love of learning!

The School Day

8:45am – 3.30pm

The gates to the playground will be open from 8.45am and close at 8.55am ready for the children to begin their learning.

At the end of the day, the gates will open just before 3.30pm

Snacks at school

Children in Reception Class, Class 1 and Class 2 are provided with a free piece of fruit every morning.

Children under 5 are also given a cup of fresh milk each day.

Often, the children like to have an afternoon snack, which they can bring in from home in a named container.

Please send in something from the following:

  • Plain cracker
  • Fresh fruit or vegetable
  • Breadsticks
  • Cheese
  • Plain rice cakes

This week we have...
